We’re here to help you throughout your entire campaign – from ideas and creativity, to execution and evaluation. So even if time is running out – remember it’s never too late. Doing something is better than doing nothing.
Christmas Marketing Campaign Tips:
On your marks. Get set. GO!
Without panicking you, time is really ticking so the need to actually do something should be kicking in now. Acting now still gives your business ample time to blast some sales in the holiday buying period. But don’t make this a rushed job just because you don’t have months of time to plan. Take some time out to strategically think about how you can both entice and get in front of your market.
Think Promotions.
Consider your market and try to choose a promotion that gives you the edge over your competitor or highlights the added value you provide. Generic promotions work well however coming up with something original could really help you seal the deal. Why not cross your promotion with your social media marketing and offer exclusive treats for Facebook fans or Twitter followers.
Some sample ideas:
*On the first day of Christmas… – hold a different offer each day of Christmas to keep your customers coming back for more.
*Beat the VAT increase – remind customers that they should beat the VAT increase in January 2011 by shopping now.
*Gift suggestions – draw up a must have gift ideas list to help customers with their shopping.
*Free shipping or gift wrapping.
*Flat rate 10 or 20% off – for a limited time only.
*Afterhours shopping spree – open late one evening in the run up to Christmas and allow shopping to avail of an on the night discount along with some hot coffee or mulled wine to warm their hands when they arrive through the door.
Get the word out!
Deciding on a good campaign is just the beginning, now you need to tell everyone! Ideally you’ll want to tell as many people as possible but booking a TV ad space and running a two week billboard campaign isn’t the only way to do that. You’ll be glad to know there’s much more cost effective ways. By getting some high quality artwork designed accompanied with copy that speaks directly to your market you can maximise the effectiveness of your campaign and ensure that as many people as possible hear your great news.
*Flyers – well designed flyers with your message are incredibly cost effective and easy to distribute. Pop one into every order you ship, display them in your premise or hand them out within your local area.
*E-Mails – an email marketing campaign will allow you to tell your existing customer base that you are running a festive campaign. Use this in conjunction with other tactics for optimum results.
*Pop up on your website – a simple, easy to close pop up that is activated when users visit your site can quickly inform customers about your new seasonal promotions.
*New website graphics detailing your offers – simple yet effective – pictures speak louder than words!
*Print advertising – can be very cost effective if it is well designed and clear for the reader. Accompanying print adverts with editorial is the perfect way to secure maximum exposure and a higher return.
*Adwords/PPC – Using Google Adwords can be tricky so it’s best to speak to the experts before you run up a bill that has little or no return. Generally if you can instantly convert users to a sale via your website then you could benefit greatly from Adwords. To run an effective campaign you must constantly remarket your business – encouraging users who have already clicked through to click again for a different purpose and ultimately – buy.
We’ve already successfully launched Christmas campaigns for a number of our clients and we’re running some of our very own! Ask us today about our special Christmas promotions on print and web work that will help you get the most out of your Christmas marketing campaign.
